While summer has officially finished, a visit to September’s featured property would definitely have you thinking otherwise. With a tropical climate and the temperature still hitting 30 degrees Celsius during the day (and not a lot less at night), Ho Chi Minh City is a destination for year round heat seekers. And staying at the Grand Hotel Saigon is one way to infuse your stay with some Vietnamese history.

Occupying the same corner, in the heart of downtown (District 1) on Dong Khoi Street since 1930, the Grand Hotel Saigon is one of the oldest hotels in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and still today retains its French colonial style.

Owned by SaiGon Tourist Corporation, a state owned company and the biggest local player in the hotel industry in Vietnam, the hotel has been through various renovations over the years, updating the 230 rooms to keep them current and recently the management felt an upgrade to the guest room safes was in order.

Product quality and stable local supply were two of the most important factors in choosing what vendors to work with.

Safemark is represented in Vietnam by CA Trading a locally owned and managed company with many international brands in their product stable. The excellent reputation and known service capabilities of CA Trading coupled with Safemark’s product range proved to be a winning factor.

Mr Thong – General Director of Project Management Board of SG Tourist has shared; “While Safemark ‘s price was not the cheapest, the overall package was the most competitive solution in comparison to other brands evaluated.  With the 5 year product warranty, good technical and sales support, and the worldwide reputation as a leading hotel safe provider, CA Trading has convinced me that Safemark is the choice for our upcoming projects either new buildings or upgrades.”

M5.1 at Grand Hotel Saigon

For the Grand Hotel Saigon, the workhorse Millennium M5.1 hotel safe was chosen. At a size that easily fits into the space available while still being able to accommodate a 15” laptop, the hotel felt that the Millennium M5.1 with a mechanical override was the best solution.

For most, thoughts of Vietnam bring memories of the Vietnam war (or the American war as the locals call it), soaking up the history or lessons learned from that encounter is certainly a leading attraction for this dynamic country. Today, development is galloping along with many of the countries beautiful beach areas undergoing transformation with leading worldwide hotel companies taking stake in the country. For me, China beach is one of the most beautiful in the region, that coupled with the local culture and food are compelling reasons to visit.
